Mrs. Herbic’s Kindergarten News
Week of November 17th-November 21st, 2008

This coming week, we will focus on the letter Ll. Ll
makes the sound /l/ like in lamp, lollypop, and Lizzy the
Lizzard! We will be learning how to write the letter Ll too! Although we will focus on
Ll, students are
exposed to all the letters in the alphabet on a daily
basis! Our theme will be Thanksgiving!
In Math, we will be graphing the weather, working with
the calendar, counting by 1’s, 5's and 10’s! We will be
working on identifying yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
We will be identifying the terms “most” and “least.”
Keep counting at home! Students have been introduced to
tally marks too! Students should be able to count to 50
by the end of the quarter without skipping any numbers.
Have your child count pennies at home. Students have
been introduced to pennies and that pennies are worth
one cent. Encourage your child to create patterns with
objects at home too.
In Social Studies, we will learn about the Pilgrims and
Native Americans! We will be learning about a liquid and
a solid. We will make and shake our own butter!
