~Human Body~

We read My Five Senses! This story is WONDERFUL to help students
learn about their five senses!

We  make Dim Bones the skeleton!

The Bony Hokey Pokey
(Tune: Hokey Pokey)

Put your right phalanges in,
Put your right phalanges out,
Put your right phalanges in
And you shake them all about.
You do the bony hokey pokey
And you turn yourself around,
That's what it's all about!

Repeat for left phalanges, pelvic bone, cranium, etc.

We create Q-tip skeletons!

We color, cut, and glue healthy food on paper plates at the Art Center!

We make patterns with bones and eyeballs!

"The Parts of My Body Song"

The brain in my head goes think, think, think,

Think, think, think,

Think, think, think.

The brain in my head goes think, think, think,

All day long.

The heart in my body goes thump, thump, thump,

Thump, thump, thump,

Thump, thump, thump.

The heart in my body goes thump, thump, thump,

All day long.

The stomach in my body digests my food,

Digests my food,

Digests my food.

The stomach in my body digests my food,

All day long.

The lungs in my body breathe in and out,

In and out,

In and out.

The lungs in my body breathe in and out,

In and out,

In and out.

All day long.

The skin on my body goes feel, feel, feel,

Feel, feel, feel,

Feel, feel, feel.

The skin on my body goes feel, feel, feel.

All day long.

We measure ourselves using feet! (I copied our Everyday Math
master copy of the foot onto colored paper and laminated the feet
for more durability. The students REALLY enjoyed this Math activity!)

We  have bone pointers!

Students sort food picture cards into the different food
groups at the Math Center !

We make tye-dye t-shirts and visors for Field Day!

We see what we can pick up with our toes!

Demonstrate how germs fly-use a water bottle.

We exercise!

We feel for our pulse!

We rub half a potato on different items in our classroom.
We wash our hands and touch the other half of the potato.
After a week or so....bacteria starts growing on the "dirty" potato.
We learn that when we wash our hands often...our hands are much cleaner!
