Brush Your Teeth
Brush your teeth,
Brush your teeth,
Give your teeth a treat.
Brush up and down and all around,
To keep them clean and neat!
Brush them once,
Brush them twice,
Brush three times a day.
Brush up and down and all around,
Keep cavities away!
Our
Experiment Lab
We do an
experiment using Coke and hard boiled eggs.
Each student lets their egg soak in Coke for a day. We
observe
the changes! The egg is stained by the Coke! Just like
our
teeth get stained when we don't brush and take care of
our
teeth. The students get to brush their egg after it is
stained to
remove the stains and plaque! The students ALWAYS LOVE
doing this experiment!
Students add "cavities"
to teeth at the Math Center! Raisins
work as easy, cute, cavities if you don't want to
punch out paper
holes! You could also have students use a hole punch
to punch
small black dots to use as cavities!
We graph our
favorite kind of toothpaste! I contacted my
local
dentist and he donated toothbrushes to our
class. You can also
buy packages of 5 toothbrushes at Dollar Tree
for a $1.00. A class
set would only cost $4.00!
We learn flossing
is good for our teeth! We practice flossing
with pretend floss (yarn and egg cartons) and
then little flossers!
Students shop through grocery adds to find healthy
food
and junk food! Healthy food they cut and glue on one
side of
their paper tooth. Unhealthy food students glue on
the other side!
When I ate a lime.
The tooth fairy came last night
And she left me a _______________.
When I ate a pickle.
The tooth fairy came last night
And she left me a _______________.
Just like cousin Jenny.
The tooth fairy came last night
And she left me a _______________.
It fell on the fence.
The tooth fairy came last night
And she left me a _______________.
It fell on my collar.
The tooth fairy came last night
And she left me a _______________.
Students use
marshmallow teeth to complete subtraction
problems! For example: If I have 8 teeth but
I lose 2 teeth
how many teeth do I have left?
We write
about teeth at the Writing Center!
My Teeth chew......
We create a
Toothbrushing Chart! Students get to
take their chart home and record their
brushing!
tooth fairy pillow at the Art Center!
We make edible mouths
to eat!
MATERIALS NEEDED: apple slices, peanut butter, and
marshmallows.
Comfort Dental comes
to do a dental hygiene show for our school!
